Happy April Fools’ Day! What better way to celebrate than by pulling a few not-so-harmless pranks on your co-workers? Here’s a list of our 15 favorite April Fools’ pranks. Have fun – and try not to get fired!
- Tape a small scrap of paper to the bottom of a co-worker’s mouse. It’ll take them at least five minutes to figure out why their mouse isn’t working.
- Tape an air horn under a co-worker’s chair. This is especially funny for a co-worker who’s always late, because everyone will know the second they sit down.
- Steal some office supplies, mix up some jello, pour the office supplies and jello into a mold, and place back on your co-worker’s desk.
- Wrap everything in a co-worker’s cubicle – their chair, computer, everything – in plastic wrap or aluminum foil.
- Wrap a co-worker’s phone in rubber bands so they can’t answer their phone.
- Cover a co-worker’s car in sticky notes. Bonus: write mean things on said sticky notes.
- Replace hand sanitizer with personal lubricant.
- Change the language on someone’s computer.
- Take something from a coworker’s office and leave a ransom note. Even better, hide the stuff you stole in another unsuspecting co-worker’s cubicle.
- Cover toilet seats with plastic wrap.
- Switch the keys around on a coworker’s keyboard.
- Leave a note on a co-worker’s car “apologizing” for “hitting their car” – even better, leave another coworker’s number on the note
- Seal your co-worker’s cubicle off and stuff it with balloons. Or trash. Whatever works.
- Flip your co-worker’s screen upside down by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow (don’t worry, it’s reversible; just press Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow to correct it).
- Finally, the prank that will definitely get you fired: Switch out the usual coffee in your office’s coffee maker with decaf.
