7 Productivity Apps You Need in Your Life

Productivity is largely up to you, but there are some applications and tools that can help you increase your productivity. It won’t hurt to try these things out to see if they make a difference in your productivity. If it doesn’t work, then at least you know what not to do.

  1. Wunderlist
Wunderlist is an online site and smartphone app that allows you to create lists. You can assign deadlines, include notes, and create subtasks for each task. You can also enable alarms to put up on your desktop, smartphone, or tablet when a task needs to be finished. Wunderlist makes it easy to organize and update any and all to do lists you might have and take them with you wherever you go.
  2. Sunrise Calendar
This is a free calendar service that is available on desktop, Google Play, and the App Store. Sunrise has an easy-to-use interface that connects to other major calendar services. It can also connect to other apps, such as Evernote, so you can receive notes you need for things like travel or meetings.
  3. Carrot
Self-described as “the hilariously sadistic A.I. construct with the heart of weapons-grade plutonium,” Carrot is an app that will whip you into productivity-fighting shape. Basically, if you don’t finish your responsibilities, like going to the gym or cleaning the bathroom, then Carrot will become angry with you. Carrot alarm is a talking alarm clock that will make sure you get up and will reward you with new songs if you don’t try to sleep in.
There are also Carrot apps that can keep count of your calorie intake and monitor the quality of your exercises, and - of course - make you feel terrible for not meeting your goals.
  4. Inkflow
If you need a place to jot down, map out, and rearrange your thoughts and ideas, then Inkflow is the app for you. Here you can draw and write whatever want to. You can move things around, and rearrange your ideas so you can create a clear plan. You can even use your iPad’s camera to snap an image of handwritten notes/doodles and Inkflow will convert them to work in the app. The basic edition is free in the App Store.
  5. Habit List
Habit List is for those looking to create new habits and keep a detailed record of the things they complete every day. You can set the number of times a week or the days of the week you want to accomplish certain things, and the app will monitor how long you can keep up the streak. The only downside is that the app is only available for iPhone, not even iPad.
  6. Find Me Coffee
Potentially the most important productivity app out there, Find Me Coffee helps you find nearby coffee shops so you can get your caffeine fix. It provides directions, customer reviews, and allows you to filter the results according to the amenities offered. This app is a godsend for those times when you’re desperate for a caffeinated pick-me-up.
  7. Clear
While the price ($4.99 on iTunes) might make you think no way, this app might just be worth the money if you give it a shot. Clear allows you to create to-do lists and prioritize the tasks. You can create multiple lists and personalize each one with a theme. It has a simple design that is easy to navigate, shows reminders in the “Today view” on iPhone, and it also syncs with the cloud so you can carry it on all of your devices.
