10 Places Germs are Hiding in the Office

Most people don’t think about how gross the world around them really is. That’s why we eat on the subway and rub our eyes directly after handling money. The one place you should be safe from germs is your workplace, right? Sorry, but your office is a breeding ground for bacteria. Here are 10 places you are going to want to seriously disinfect.

The Copy Machine

Everyone in the office uses the copy machine, even Sticky Fingers Sam. Can you imagine how dirty the buttons are? They're completely covered with everything everyone has been touching. Don’t be fooled by your willful ignorance. This is how illness is spread so quickly. If your office doesn’t have hand sanitizer in its shared spaces, it really should. In fact, a study showed that the copier start button had more than 1,200,013 colony-forming units (CFU). The higher the CFU number, the more bacteria and active, sick-causing cells are covering the surface. As a comparison, the copier start button is nastier than your dog dish. Actually, it's worse than many toilet seats. If you can't spritz hand sanitizer on your hands after using the copier, definitely wash your hands or avoid touching the buttons with your bare fingers as much as humanly possible.
